The Ansel Adams / Lindsay Robertson exhibition was showcased at The City Arts Centre, Edinburgh. The Show comprised of 150 iconic Ansel Adams prints and 50 images by Lindsay. Many of Lindsay's images were mural prints printed up to 8' x 4'. The theme of the exhibition was ' Caledonia to California' which celebrated the journey of John Muir from his homeland in Scotland to America.
The link between John Muir and Ansel Adams is significant because John Muir established The Sierra Club, which was the first conservation club in the world for the preservation of our wild places. Ansel Adams became the official photographer for the club and became a board member and held that post for over 40 years. Between them they were two of America's most influential environmentalists and champions of the Sierra Nevada
The joint exhibition attracted critical acclaim which resulted in an extension of a further 3 weeks to accommodate the record number of visitors.
